Bangalore (Bengaluru) is India’s tech capital, garden city, microbrewery hub and one of the most pleasant year-round climates in India. Sitting at 920 m on the Deccan Plateau, the city blends gorgeous British-era parks (Lalbagh, Cubbon), Indo-Saracenic palaces, vibrant pub culture in Indiranagar/Koramangala, and fast-rising innovation centres. Best Time to Visit

• October – February — perfect (12–28 °C). Peak season.
• March – May — warmer but tolerable.
• June – September — South-west monsoon — short heavy bursts.
• August (Lalbagh Flower Show) — twice yearly (Aug + Jan); not to be missed.

Top Attractions

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

240-acre garden built by Hyder Ali in 1760. The famous Glass House (modelled on London’s Crystal Palace) hosts the bi-annual Lalbagh Flower Show in January and August. Beautiful at sunrise.

Cubbon Park

300-acre central park (1870) — the city’s lungs. Home to the State Central Library (red sandstone), the High Court, and a maze of joggers and cyclists at dawn.

Bangalore Palace

1878 Tudor-Norman palace built by the Wadiyars on the model of Windsor Castle. Extensive Persian carpet, paintings and Wadiyar memorabilia. Open for tours; also hosts concerts and weddings.

Vidhana Soudha

The state legislature building (1956) — one of the largest legislature buildings in India. Built in Neo-Dravidian style, illuminated on Sunday evenings.

Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace

1791 wooden palace of Tipu Sultan — the “Tiger of Mysore”. Two-storey teak structure with intricate carvings, frescoes, and the simple chambers where Tipu lived.

ISKCON Temple

Modern temple complex on a hilltop — beautiful at evening when the lights come on. The laddoo prasadam is famous.

Bull Temple (Big Bull) & Bugle Rock

16th-century temple with a massive 4.5-m monolithic Nandi (bull). Bugle Rock park nearby has a 3,000-million-year-old peninsular gneiss rock — one of the oldest in the world.

UB City & Brewery District

Bangalore’s nightlife capital — microbreweries are legal here and the city has 50+. Best craft beer in India. Indiranagar’s 100ft Road, Koramangala 5th Block, Whitefield are the popular zones.

Nandi Hills (day trip)

60 km north — sunrise hill. Get up at 4 AM, drive 1.5 hr, watch the sunrise from a 1,478-m granite hilltop above the clouds. The most popular Bangalore weekend escape.

Bannerghatta National Park

22 km — safari park with tigers, lions, leopards. Combined zoo + butterfly park + jungle safari.

HAL Heritage Centre & Aerospace Museum

India’s only aerospace museum — fascinating for aviation lovers.

By Air

Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) — South India’s busiest. 35 km from city centre. Direct flights from every major Indian city + 70+ international cities.

By Rail

Multiple terminals: KSR Bengaluru (SBC) (the main station), Yesvantpur, Bangalore Cantonment. Direct trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad. The new Vande Bharat Mysore-Bangalore is fastest local.

By Road

Mysore 140 km (3 hr), Chennai 350 km (6 hr), Hyderabad 575 km (10 hr). Bangalore Metro (Namma Metro) makes city travel easy.

• 1–2 days in Bangalore is enough; or use it as a base for Mysore-Coorg-Hampi trips
• Stay near Indiranagar / Koramangala for nightlife; UB City / Lavelle Road for upscale; Whitefield for tech parks
• Bangalore traffic is notorious — plan early/late travel, use Metro where possible
